SaitenReich – Music for 167 Strings Between Courtly Elegance and Nordic Tradition
Under the title SaitenReich, a richly coloured programme unfolds, presenting the world of string instruments in all its diversity and expressive power.
The music spans a wide arc from the Renaissance and Baroque to traditional Scandinavian music: works by Andrea Falconieri, Michelangelo Rossi, John Dowland, Marin Marais, Michael Praetorius, Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber and Ludvig Mathias Lindeman enter into a vivid dialogue—between courtly elegance, virtuosic artistry and Nordic sound traditions.
With a total of 167 strings, the three outstanding musicians bring together a fascinating palette of sounds:
Giovanna Pessi (baroque harp), Eva-Maria Rusche (square piano) and Marco Ambrosini (nyckelharpa) shape a programme full of contrasts, colours and subtle nuances.
Early music meets vivid musical storytelling.
The concert promises a journey through different eras and sound worlds—from dance-like lightness and melancholic depth to archaic power.
